The Grooved metal with soft covering layer Gaskets are used for high pressures and high temperatures during all process includes chemical and petrochemical. These Gaskets have improved performance at low seating stress. These Gaskets are especially manufactured for Shell and Heat Exchangers and standard flanges. These are very sensitive to any flange irregularity especially scratches, pitting or any marks. It is the alternate for flat metal gaskets to avoid the seating problems in all flanges. The Serrated sealing surface creates a high seating stress and additionally a labyrinth effect. However the serrated surface creates good number of seals on damage flange surface with concentric grooves. Gives better sealing where flange rotation takes place.
